This project is for sure one for the books. Monster is a testament to what passion (and a little bit of luck) can do. Benji and I started producing this project the first week of May 2020. Dealing with COVID restrictions on studios, locations, etc., it took much longer than expected. The original concept was supposed to take place in the middle of the woods. We spent two weekends searching for the perfect spot and just when we set the date for filming, the Azusa fires started. Our location was completely burned to the ground.
Benji and I hit the drawing board once again to reimagine the concept for Monster and this was born. The concept was ambitious to produce (to say the least). With a super limited budget and calling in a lot of favors, we managed to swing this. The location was a godsend, our crew was a blessing, and the pure, raw talent of everyone on set, was simply indescribable.
